Gem Research SwissLab – GRS, is a private independent gemmological research laboratory, founded in 1996 by Dr Adolf Peretti. GRS research has focused principally on the identification and characterization of high-quality gemstones from newly discovered mines, as well as determination of origin for gems derived from classic mining regions. The area of research also focuses on the identification of gemstone imitations, synthetics and gemmologists. Their final area of expertise specializes in colour grading and gemstone colour branding.
Their research laboratories located in key global sites are equipped with the latest most sophisticated technology to recognize and identify today’s advanced gemstone treatments. In addition to this, they have a group of dynamic, internationally recognized university professors, scientists and gemmologists.
The Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) is a non-profit institute dedicated to research and education in the field of gemmology and jewellery arts. Founded in 1931, GIA’s mission is to protect all buyers and sellers of gemstones by setting and maintaining the standards used to evaluate gemstone quality. The institute does so through research, gem identification, diamond grading services, and a variety of educational programs.
In the 1940s, GIA established the “4 Cs” (Cut, Carat, Clarity, and Colour) and the International Diamond Grading System™. GIA has been serving the Indian gem and jewellery industry since 2004 when it first opened its Mumbai campus, and four years later, a State-of-the-Art grading laboratory in the same location.
IGI is the largest international laboratory for diamond and colored gemstone certification. It is the only international certification lab that is controlled by a single central governing body that adheres to one internationally acknowledged system for diamond and colored gemstone grading. Apart from the standard 4 C’s—Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat Weight—IGI certificates add another “C”: Confidence, which every consumer should have while buying diamonds or colored gemstones.
We, at Shivparvatigems, take immense pride in having a vast catalog of IGI certified gemstones to boost your confidence while you make a purchase.
The Indian Gemmological Institute (IGI-GTL-GJEPC) (est. 1978) is known for rendering unprejudiced gem-related testing and research to the Gem and Jewellery Industry as well as the public, along with providing guidance in research and development to government agencies and gemmology schools through public write-ups and articles. Each report issued by IGI-GTL is concluded through thorough expert analysis, submitted for testing as per the scientific tests performed with Gemmological equipment. At IGI-GTL, quality is of utmost importance, which is why their lab is frequently upgraded with technological innovations.
International Testing Lab Gems and Jewellery (ISO 9001:2008 Certified) is known for its sophisticated methods of gem testing. These advanced techniques and methods ensure a strong and scientifically backed certification for the gems. ITLGJ has prepared and maintains a standardized nomenclature in accordance with CIBJO standards, and their certification holds high significance.
International Testing Laboratory & Gems Research Center (ITLGR), an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Testing Laboratory, maintains international standards for gemstone testing. They provide services for Gemstone Identification, Treatment Identification, Origin Identification, and Diamond Grading. The gemstones are tested by highly experienced gemologists, and reports are issued accordingly.
